Emergency energy support services
- Norman Wells, NWT:
In May, 2011, the remote town of Norman Wells, NWT, declared a State of Emergency after a pipeline leak threatened to halt gas supply to the town. Within just three days of being contacted by town officials, ATCO Energy Solutions arranged for a C-130 Hercules aircraft to transport equipment and a team of operators from ATCO Gas to provide emergency support. A propane air mix system was installed as backup to the town’s regular supply of natural gas.
One year earlier, in July, 2010, ATCO Energy Solutions provided the town of Norman Wells with a propane air mix system to use as an alternate fuel source when the town’s gas supply was turned off to accommodate nearly a month of planned maintenance.
